Children's Services
United Voice children’s services members work in childcare and as teacher aides, education assistants, and other educators. We are the professionals caring for and educating the next generation of Australians. We work hard to make sure that all children in our care are given a great start in life.

About the Children's Services Sector
The BIG STEPS in childcare campaign
is United Voice’s national campaign for reform in the childcare sector. The
union is fighting for better recognition of childcare professionals’
skills and for financial support for training. Childcare workers and
families agree: we want childcare to be a caring, supporting and stable
environment integrated with appropriate quality education programs.
Despite
the best efforts of workers, decades of neglect by government has
created a crisis in the care and education of young children. There is
a chronic shortage of workers and a desperate need for national quality
standards and career paths with better pay for workers in this
important sector.
