ABC Learning Centres’ board and management changes
ABC Learning today advised the Australian Stock Exchange that Eddy Groves and Le Neve Groves have left their board and management positions with the company.
Statement by Louise Tarrant, National Secretary, LHMU – The childcare union:
ABC Learning today advised the Australian Stock Exchange that Eddy Groves and Le Neve Groves have left their board and management positions with the company.
Rowan Webb has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of ABC Learning pending the appointment of a permanent CEO. Mr Webb is the former Managing Director of Colorado Group, the Brisbane-based retailer.
This afternoon senior management from ABC Learning contacted me and said it was “business as usual”.
If members have any concerns or questions they should contact their LHMU Branch:
ACT: 1800 805 027
QLD: 1800 065 885
NSW: 1800 805 027
NT: 08 8924 4700
SA: 08 8352 9300
TAS: 1800 625 119
VIC: 1800 819 087
WA: 1800 199 890
I am concerned about the Company’s delays in meeting with the union. ABC management said a meeting would take place between the Union and Mr Webb, probably within the next week.
Through the BIG STEPS in childcare campaign LHMU members will continue to maintain and improve quality care within ABC Learning Centres by working towards:
- Lower ratios to ensure childcare professionals have enough time to provide quality childcare
- Better wages to attract and retain quality staff
- Opportunities for continuing training and development
- Recognition of childcare professionals’ valuable role and existing skills.
