Airlite sign Clean Start Agreement
On Monday, Airlite Group became the first cleaning contractor in WA to sign the Clean Start Agreement.
Airlite is one of 5 main WA contractors identified as cleaning a large portion of office space in Perth.
This represents a significant win for the Clean Start campaign in WA and sends a clear message to the other major WA owned contractors that the Clean Start campaign is on track to trigger the agreement in WA.
This agreement will bring significant improvements to Airlite's cleaners' lives, recognising the vital role that all cleaning staff play in the well being of the working environment.
On Tuesday, Margaria Cleaning Services followed Airlite's lead and signed the Clean Start Agreement. Now the Perth market is now extremely close to being 'triggered' - meaning that enough contractors will have signed on to make the agreement effective.
Who will sign on next?
What the Clean Start Collective Agreement delivers to cleaners:
• reasonable workloads
• four hour minimum shifts (in larger CBD buildings)
• job security at change of contract
• fair leave
• annual wage increases of between 4-8% over four years
• proper induction and on-the-job training
• effective dispute resolution procedures
