Casino management deal positive outcomes

Thu 18 Jun 09 Comments

Negotiations between Treasury Casino workers and management held yesterday achieved significant gains for members.

Delegates and the LHMU decided the claims achieved should be put to the majority of workers to vote on next week.

Based on the outcomes of last Friday’s and this week’s negotiations delegates and the LHMU have decided to withdraw the proposed action for this Friday afternoon.

All members are notified that the LHMU has withdrawn the 24-hour proposed work stoppage at this time.

Dependent on the result of the ballot, LHMU members reserve the right to take protected industrial action in the future to further their claims.

Further updates will be made available in the coming weeks.

All LHMU casino members are strongly encouraged to attend paid information sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week, where union officials and delegates will be able to respond to any questions or concerns members may have.

Please see your workplace notice boards and delegates for meeting times.

LHMU casino members would like to thank all other members of the LHMU for their continued support and those who had given their commitment to attend this Friday’s action.
