10.25% is not going to cut it! Not now, not ever!

VIC CROWN July mass meeting 240Over the past two weeks, thousands of Crown workers have come together to talk about the radical changes Crown management want to make to our EA.

Crown workers are saying they won't accept cuts to conditions in the agreement that would see them or their work mates worse off.

Crown workers are also demanding Crown get real and start offering them a decent pay increase.

Crown workers are saying that 10.25% over three years is simply not going to cut it! Not now, not ever!

Hundreds of Casino Union members met last Thursday before and after work.

At the meetings union members voted unanimously in favour of the following motion, which was put to Crown management on Friday 23 July 2010 by your Casino Union bargaining team.

The motion reads:

“We, the Crown workers are directing our bargaining team to tell Crown that:

We think Peter Coyne has his eye on an 11% pay outcome.  The Crown board need to know that this pay outcome will not be good enough.

We reject Crown’s table games classification cuts.

We remain committed to achieving industry standard annual leave for shift workers in this EA.

We are prepared to take industrial action in support of this position.”

VIC CROWN James Bowles“I’m a first game dealer. Under Crown’s proposal I’ll be working for more than $2.40 an hour less when I get my third game.  I’m prepared to fight to protect the value of our work.” James Bowles, Dealer
