- Crown’s offer of 11.25% was formally rejected.
- Wages should be increased by 12.75% over the next three years.

- Deadline set for this Thursday. If not met, action to begin Friday.
On Monday, your Casino Union bargaining team met with Crown for the 18th time.
Crown’s pay offer of only 11.25% over three years was rejected.
Crown was informed that if the EA dispute isn’t settled by the end of Thursday 14 October, Crown members will take industrial action on Friday.
Crown was also informed that it can resolve this dispute by coming back to the bargaining table with a fair offer on pay and work classifications.
If Crown agrees to pay staff a 4.5% pay increase, plus 4.25% in 2011, and 4% in 2012 (totaling 12.75% over three years), the action that will happen on Friday can be avoided.
Crown also needs to take the table games cuts off the table.
As a compromise, union representatives from table games are prepared to join Crown in a working party.
The working party would spend six months looking at the current classification and training setup, and make recommendations for reform if needed.
For any recommendations to be accepted it would require a vote of all affected employees.
Crown was also told that recognition and respect for our union will be an essential part of any new EA at the casino.
Crown has been given the deadline: 5:00pm Thursday 14 October to agree to this compromise package.
If Crown agrees, action can be suspended pending formal acceptance of the deal. If not, action will begin on Friday.
It is now time for union members to stand up for a fair deal from this massive Australian company.
If union members are prepared to take a stand now, the landscape at Crown will change forever.
The reverberations will be felt for many years to come.
2010 will be the year Crown workers stood up for fairness and respect.
The time is now. This is our opportunity to win respect and recognition at Crown for the future.
