3. Crown's proposed EA changes
If not now, when?
On Friday your Casino Union bargaining team met with Crown for your third meeting to discuss the new EA. Crown outlined a list of 13 proposals that they want in your new EA. But we were left wondering – where is the money?
Last week, we said we wanted to see a pay increase of 16% over the next three years.
Crown have said “no” to this proposal, but haven’t put forward one of their own.
They haven’t even told us when they will be able to tell Crown employees what sort of pay increase they can expect over the next three years.
It is clear Crown is going to try and drag our negotiations out for as long as they can.
They are OK putting forward proposals of their own – but when it comes to our pay rise, they say they cannot respond.
You can do something about this – talk to your supervisor or manager today about how you feel about this lack of respect.
Tell Crown to put their money on the table today!

Our proposals
10 steps to a better EA1. No going backwards – maintenance of current conditions.
2. Improvements to pay and allowances – increases of 16% over 3 years.
3. Improvements in the way Crown consults with Casino Union members.
4. Improving work life balance – more weekends off work, requested RDO’s, increased notice of rosters, reduction in six day stretches and multiple shift start and finish times.
5. Improving job certainty for casuals.
6. Improving classification structures – for 2 game dealers, Level 2 F&B’s, in gaming machines, cage & count and in security (including medics).
7. Improving how Crown deals with sick leave – no harassment of Crown employees who take sick leave, stat decs instead of medical certificates, more “evidence free days.”
8. Improving annual leave – increase to 5 weeks with leave loading, making annual leave requests more flexible.
9. Heat policy for employees working in very hot or cold temperatures.
10. A plain English EA that can be understood by everyone.
Crown's proposed EA changes
1.Change old references to old legislation
2. An agreement for four years (note – on this issue, Union members have said they want a three year agreement)
3. Change who is bound by the agreement
4. Take out the “roll over” clause
5. Change the way “multi hire” arrangements work
6. Take away the attendance allowance
7. Define a higher duties rate when filling in for salaried staff
8. Change the part time bands
9. Reduce redundancy entitlements
10. Allow for money to be withheld from final pay for certain items not returned
11. Review what the EA says about shift give-aways
12. Change classifications: in cage & count, f&b, gaming machines, hotels, table games
13. Salaries – but no offer ...

My husband and I both work in Crown, He is a table game dealer and I am a food & beverage attendant. We have a small baby who is only 1 year old. We put our baby in the childcare, and need to drive him there and pick him up. In this case, can I apply for day shifts reasonably?
Because my husband is doing day and night shift rotation and it has been fixed, so I have to send my son to the childcare.
I need union help.
Thank you kindly.
