All aboard for better jobs
Hundreds of Casino Union members have had their say on how to make Crown a better place to work, at recent meetings about our new EA.
The bumper turnout included long-term members and a flood of new members who’ve come on board.
“It’s been great to get together and discuss what we want to see in our new EA,” said experienced dealer and member Andrew Chance (pictured below, left).
“It’s great seeing so many younger members take an interest in their future at Crown.”
Andrew Chance, Dealer.
“It’s great seeing members understand this is about us all standing together to win changes for everyone, not just one department.”
“The key is: the more members involved, the better it is for all of us.”
Over 1000 Casino Union members also participated in our biggest Union survey ever at Crown.
Members’ responses will shape our proposals for better jobs here at Crown.
Let's maintain our conditions: members
Across Crown members are having their say about what matters to them in our EA.
Casino Union members are sending a clear message: We want to protect our current employment conditions – 90% say it’s a big priority in our new EA.
Most members also say winning better pay is very important.
After that, members say the next priority is improved rostering and creating better career paths.
Over 90% of members surveyed agreed Crown would listen more if we spoke with one clear collective voice.
Members want our collective voice to be recognised and respected by Crown in our new EA.
We want better pay: survey
Across Crown, Casino Union members want to keep hold of our existing conditions and win improvements to our jobs through our new EA.
The three changes we want most are:
1. Protect our current conditions
2. Better pay
3. A better work/life balance through fairer rostering systems.
“Our No. 1 priority is to protect our current conditions. We don’t
want to go backwards.”
Bert Williams, Food and Beverage Attendant.
Support Star City members
For 12 months Star City Casino members in Sydney have been demanding a new EA.
But Star City is only offering a 2% pay rise and want to take away the 3rd game progression for dealers.
Members have rejected this offer three times and taken industrial action to increase pressure on Star City management.
