United Voice News
In this Saturday's state election we only have one choice as a union. It's not about anything else for the LHMU than job security, wages and the safety of our members.
Only one side is saying the right things.
What we know:
X The Nationals want to cut jobs by 12,000 each year.
+ The Government wants to protect them.
X The Nationals won't answer our letters, including our questions about job security for school cleaners.
+ The Government has answered our letters and will not sack or contract out school cleaners jobs
X The Nationals won't answer questions about workplace laws and individual contracts like WorkChoices will be allowed.
+ The Government will keep the fair system we have.
X The Nationals simply won't talk to unions, they won't listen to the issues we raise on behalf of our members.
+ The Government will.
The Nationals' mates in the new Western Australian Government are cutting jobs and are bringing back unfair workplace laws. They will in Queensland too.
It therefore becoms that simple for the LHMU.
We have no option but to choose jobs and fairness in the workplace.
That means opposing Mr Springborg and the Nationals.
If you want to protect your workmates, protect jobs and protect the ability of unions to work for members, you should oppose the Nationals too.
