Today with great sadness I learned the news of Bernie Banton's passing. He was a hero and an inspiration to every worker in this country. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Today with great sadness I learned the news of Bernie Banton's passing. He was a hero and an inspiration to every worker in this country. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
After hearing that sad news I have decided to immediately join a Union. I would like to contribute to the Unions in any way I can, and be part of the fight for the workers' rights. I have already submitted my online application today and I hope to become a proud member of the LHMU soon.
As a first generation migrant with a young family and as a hard working and proud Australian it is my wish to see this great country of ours not just more prosperous but also fairer and more compassionate because I would like our children to grow up and live in a Society not in an economy.
