Professional Childcare Standard - VOTE YES!
Victorian community childcare moves forward as members vote for the Professional Childcare Standard.
The Professional Childcare Standard delivers a 10.5% pay rise over two and a half years. Members also won increased planning time and professional development days.
It takes us another step forward in our BIG STEPS campaign to win professional recognition and respect.
Pat Cunningham from Monash Community Childcare was on the bargaining team, representing members in almost 100 centres. She is overjoyed.

Professional Childcare Standard 2010 — Voting instructions
Congratulations! It is now time to vote to be part of the Professional Childcare Standard 2010 (LHMU and VCSA MBA).
The Professional Childcare Standard 2010 includes new standards in wages, planning time and professional development in recognition of the high quality care and dedication of Early Childhood Educators and Carers.
Over 50% of the staff at your centre must cast a vote in favour of the Agreement to receive the benefits of the new Professional Childcare Standard 2010.
How to vote:
1. You should have been provided with a copy of the Professional Childcare Standard to read in your centre. Online copies are available by clicking below.
2. On 19 March 2010 you will be provided with a ballot paper. Copies will also be available online from this date. Cast your vote and place the ballot paper in a secure place provided by your employer. All employees must cast a vote.
3. By 1 April 2010 the voting period must close and all ballots are to be returned to the LHMU for counting.
