LHMU Victoria election results
Jess Walsh has been elected LHMU Victorian Secretary in a landslide election result.
Congratulations to all LHMU members who voted in your union election.
Thousands of members had their say.
The Australian Electoral Commission has announced the following successful candidates:
• Jess Walsh, Branch Secretary
• Ben Redford, Branch Assistant Secretary
• Marie Angrilli, Branch President
Ninety percent of members voted in the ballot for Jess Walsh and her team.
Overall 33 percent of LHMU members voted in their union election. The AEC said that this return rate is above average for union elections, which are often as low as 20 percent.
“It is a great honour to be re-elected as Secretary of LHMU Victoria: we are a growing, winning union with a very exciting future,” said Jess Walsh, LHMU Victorian Secretary.
“Many of the amazing members who’ve led our campaigns for change have also now been elected to our Branch Council and Executive.”
