Paramedics to meet Health Minister
St John Ambulance paramedics will meet with the Health Minister Kim Hames this afternoon.
“Paramedics have a lot to discuss with the Health Minister,” said LHMU Assistant Secretary Carolyn Smith.
“They have some pretty harrowing tales of their experience dealing with system failures that are rife throughout St John Ambulance.
“The meeting with the Minister is also a chance for paramedics to discuss the Terms of Reference that have been set out for the review announced by Dr Hames last week.
“The Terms of Reference are not broad enough.
“First and foremost they do not protect the paramedics who’ve come forward and put their jobs on the line in revealing the truth about the WA ambulance service.
“Dr Hames should take the paramedics’ concerns seriously and their protection, and the protection of all Western Australians who may need to use the ambulance service, should be of utmost priority.”
