Register for the WA Delegates Convention
The next Delegates Convention will take place in the Subiaco Oval in Perth on Friday, May 28.
The day-long convention in the Bill Walker room will give you the chance to meet up with fellow delegates from across the LHMU’s varied membership, and share your stories, victories and experiences.
An exciting programme of speakers is also being lined up for the event with details to be released soon.
Around 300 people are expected to attend from all sections of the union including government health, education, aged care, disabilities, property services, child care, security and hospitality.
Registration forms have been sent out to all delegates and those attending should fill out their forms and return them to the branch office in Subiaco.

Dave Kelly, secretary of LHMU WA said: “Delegates work so hard in their own workplaces that sometimes it is difficult to see what we’re all working towards.
“The convention gives them the opportunity to step back and learn more about the scope of the work of their union, hear from politicians whose decisions impact directly on their lives and listen to the experts who are analysing and interpreting those decisions.
“Our health and privatisation campaigns will be in full swing at the time of the convention so this’ll be the chance for delegates from the relevant industries to swap the ideas and talk tactics.
“We can’t wait to welcome everybody to what is sure to be an unmissible event.”
Royal Perth Hospital delegate Jacqui Blagdanic said the three Delegate Conventions she’d attended had been “informative about what the union was doing as a whole body”.
“It gave you a bigger picture across lots of different industries and the opportunity to meet the delegates from them. There was also a bit of fun, laughter and relaxation.”
The registration forms can be faxed back to the office on 9382 3986.

Last night 14th April the wonderful Amber and Jo ran a Media training course and I felt this was a huge success so thank you to both of you.
The staff are fantastic and they want us to succeed in our campaigns and work long hours to see this acheived so it is up to us to as members and thereby being the Union to help fight for our rights and if you are asked to talk to the media and you are nervous that's ok but please at least consider it. The more stories we get out to the public the more we will acheive.
We are a family therefore if Education (myself) need help everyone get on board and that goes for all our other members and at the moment Health need our help so come on in true Aussie spirit get out and fight talk to everyone that will listen about our issues.
Keep fighting
