Sonographers, Health Professionals performing Ultrasound services in public hospitals, faced up to Queensland Health management last week by way of a photo petition.
Delegates tabled the photo petition, at a recent HP implementation meeting with management, to demonstrate unity and strength around the need to have a qualification recognised.
QLD Health has been refusing to acknowledge the qualification of a Diploma in Medical Ultrasound for the entitlement of a HEIA (higher education incentive allowance) for Sonographers for too long now.
This qualification was historically QLD Health’s preferred and at one stage only qualification for Sonographers to undertake. Yet QLD Health continues to avoid giving recognition where is it due.
LHMU Sonographers are congratulated for the progress they have already made around this issue.
