Bosses turn their backs on bargaining

Bosses turn their backs on bargaining

VIC sec eba update - bosses backsMembers fight back: We won't be silenced

On Friday 17 June 2011, contractors MSS, Wilson, and G4S walked out on the fourth meeting with our negotiation team and refused to respond to our claims.

The companies would not discuss the EBA proposals without first forcing our negotiation team to agree not to discuss the meeting content with members. They stated that the negotiation team would be prohibited from discussing any of the meetings with their site members.

The negotiation team rejected this ridiculous demand  and told the companies they would continue to report back to their members.

As a result, the companies stormed out of the negotiations and refused to discuss anything further.

Again the bosses showed their lack of respect by refusing to respond to any of our ten claims. Companies did not meet the deadline we set for the provision of a pay offer.

Your negotiation team refused to let the companies force them into silence. It is now time for all statewide security members to come together to show these companies that we will not be kept out of our own negotiations.

All members are invited to attend the mass meeting at the Victorian Trades Hall at 18:00 hrs on Thursday 23 June 2011.

In this meeting we will be endorsing our continued refusal to be silenced and take the next steps towards winning the conditions we deserve.

“Our members have the right to know what’s going on. This is about their livelihoods” Alex Saitov, Wilson, DHS Collingwood

Correct me if I am wrong , I thought corrupt dictators were not tolerated in our society . Members it is time ! Time to show the bosses that we will bring their companies to their knees if need be . Time to take action . Time to stand up for your rights as professional security officers . Time to demand respect for the job we do that allows them a lifestyle that many of us dream about . Go to trades hall on the 23rd and show your anger . The war has just begun .

It saddens me to realise that Murphy's Law that when things go wrong, they can actually GO WRONG. But it isn't surprising. When bosses turn the other way, they only reveal themselves ever more: insensitivity, arrogance and incompetency. As econonomic slaves, we think we are out of the slavery age, but heck no, listen all: they are oppressing us. Draconian attitudes mirror draconian intents: when was the last time they sat together with us to find out how we can cooperate to make the industry strong, vibrant and respectable. It is not about cannibalism. It is about measures which will make us strong together in the wake of Global Financial Crisis. Listen up: our cause is about getting the respect we are entitled to simply because a POORLY PAID EMPLOYEE RESULTS IN A POOR PERFORMANCE. Now, tell that to your clients BOSSES!

Thats unprofessional of them they should be ashamed of themselves, these companies obviously don't care about their reputation and this also opens up the door for the union to step in and take this situation to a new level. Be prepared MSS, G4S and Wilsons its about to get exciting!

No mention of the ISS management negotiating team?.. Were they there, or did they remain behind?.. This is rediculous behaviour by management and I totally agree that us members be kept informed about the EBA negotiations.. No argument!!
